Apto PPE is a fully Australian made and owned business committed to working with organisations across Australia to supply women’s and maternity fit-for-purpose safety workwear, and are registered with Australia Made Campaign.
It’s a choice for us to not manufacture overseas for a cheaper cost, and we made this choice for several reasons but ultimately as a value proposition to not cut corners on quality, comfort, ethical workplaces and sustainability.
Because all garments are made with the highest-quality materials (also Australian sourced, where possible), you can be assured of not only providing your female employees of garments that will properly fit their body shape for ultimate safety and comfort, but will last for years to come.
With this durability and longevity, our range is perfect to supply as a bank set-up within your procurement and/or HR departments. This is an especially good option for our Maternity range for use during the months of a women’s changing body, and has been adopted by organisations such as Queensland Aluminium Limited (QAL) and BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA).
An added benefit for manufacturing right here in Melbourne is that we work directly with our provider and can provide tailor-runs without the need for excessive stock orders. This means we can easily tailor material colour and weights within our design to best meet your needs.

The Designer's Assistant
Linh Thai is the Creative Director at The Designers Assistant based in Melbourne, Australia. With more than 20 years’ experience in the fashion industry. She is a master of design, pattern making & grading and sample creation.
Apto first reached out to Linh in 2013 with the idea to provide women with safety workwear that was fit-for-purpose, designed for women’s bodies. This included a maternity range.
With Linh’s ability to translate our engineering mindset for safety into designs, we were able deliver on our vision.
LCN Fashion
LCN Fashion is a Melbourne manufacturer who specialises in fashion garments. As part of the local movement of fashion manufacturing, LCN is committed to quality, value and growth. Their mission is to inspire, connect and live the change they wish to see. Like us, LCN Fashion is accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia,.
Apto started working with LCN to manufacture our garments in 2014. Their consistent standard of excellence and our shared values make working with the team a joy. Our collaboration enables us to provide quick and scalable manufacturing for our customers, whether it be a 50 garment run or larger.
Marker Maker
Another Melbourne based business, Marker Maker provides Apto PPE’s fabric marker patterns to ensure we utilise our fabrics in the most cost effective and sustainable manner – eliminating waste in the manufacturing process.
Charles Parsons
Charles Parsons is a privately owned, fourth generation, Australian business who have supplied fabric and textile materials for over 100 years. They supply our high quality, 100% cotton fabric. We work closely together to ensure fabrics are fit-for-purpose in often highly active work situations, that will be comfortable and breathable and durable.

Apto PPE labels, zips and buttons are all provided by M.Recht based in Melbourne.
